the strip is for continuity as long as the other spring connection is good you should be fine

Okay guys did some tests today I started from the beginning again. When out and got a remote bump starter so I can see better for spark. I tested the coil with the high tension wire connected to a spark plug tester and to ground. When cranking I did not see any spark. Next I tested the points. I opened the points by turning the motor over by hand till the point were wide open. I inserted a matchbox for insulation. And ground the coil wire as before. And used a jumper wire to the moveable arm on the points to the base plate. At that time I turned the key on and moved the wire up and down no spark. I also did it while cranking and had no spark. Per the Manuel it is saying a bad coil or condenser ? Doubt the condenser cause I just replaced it.
Also just for kicks I ran the jumper wire to the postive coil to see if anything would happen and still nothing with cranking.
I also attempted to measure the ohms in the resistor. I’m not sure if I did it properly. I removed the wire from the coil to the resistor then measured. The readings were very all over when ever I would move or just the voltmeter leads.
But in anycase. Is it safe to say it’s the coil? Or is there any other tests I can run ? I don’t want to just throw parts at it.
Thanks

Okay so I did another test one similar to this video https://youtu.be/5kvj_d72WTo well needless to say I got spark from the coil to the light tester. Sooo now what. I also tested with the coil wire on top and touching the test light to the tip of it. I got a small spark every time I flicked the switch and touched the test light. I also tested the volts with it on and the reading was same as the battery. So I’m kinda at a lose now .
