I bought a sailboat with a 9.9 mariner two stroke. I had the engine- carb serviced before launching it. I am unable to start it. There is no operators manual so I am not sure of the process or even the settings for the engine.
The last few years I sailed boats with tuhatsu engines. They were simply half the choke, pull the rope two or three times and vroom - not so with the Johnson.
I read something saying things like set the throttle at the start position but I have no idea where that would be.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Any ideas on operators manual wiould be appreciated (engine is a 1996).
Yesterday, a young guy went out on the boat when I wasn't there (its on a mooring) and says he started it three times. He doesn't convey the method - says he just pulled the rope.
Thx
Kevin
