Hopefully The Title Got Your Attention.
I Have A 60 Hp Mercury On An 88 Bass Tracker.i Can Not Get It Up On Plane A Buzzer Keeps Going Off I Thought It Was For The Temp But Im Not Sure Because There Is Not A Temp Gauge.i Replaced The Water Pump And I Get Good Water Flow.when I Try To Get On Plane The Boat Gets To About 3900 Rpm's And The Water Pressure Gets To About 9 Psi.them The Buzzer Goes Off And It Slows Down.and I Have Paid A Few Local People To Look At This And They Could Not Find The Problem.

Kill the caps. It's annoying and hard to read.

ok i think i may have found an answer going through other posts.the buzzer is constant only at higher rpms and stops when you slow down according to the other post that should be a fuel restriction.so in other words i need to order a manual and read it.:)

These are the best posts, the ones where the OP figures it out and then shares it with the rest of us.

Yes, I was wondering about fuel pressure, too. Have you changed out the fuel filter(s) recently?

is this motor a 1988 like the boat? dose it have an auto-blend? is the motor newer? in 1988 there was a temp. sender next to #1 spark plug. (it is a 260 or 285 degree sender)

Re: how to stop that buzzer

the warning horn is powerd-up by the puple key on power. the horn "buzzes" when a path to grownd is completed. at the brown wire in the harness. this is normaly done by the temp. sender. some other places to look at are: the 8pin cannon plug(corrosion in plug), wiring harness short, and the horn it self if it has its own grownd for the "self test" key on mode.(bass-trackers used this horn).also - try un-hooking the temp sender. hope this helps.
