how to tell if a prop will fit

I know a guy who has a painted ss prop in the pitch and diameter that I am looking for but he is not sure what it came off of.

It is 15 spline like mine but I cannot get to my boat to pull the prop off and compare the two. It looks right but before I buy it I woukd like to make sure it will fit my motor.
The engine is a 2001 Yamaha F100

Is there a way I can check I to see?

See if you can get the numbers off the prop.Perhaps someone here can figure what it is.

Without a prop manufacturers name and their part number you can't tell unless you physically try it.

you will have to try it on your motor if you can not pull any numbers anywhere off of the prop. there are many motors that have 15 tooth spline. the yamaha f100 has a 15 tooth and so does the f250 and they definitly use different props. good luck and let us know if you can get some numbers off that prop

That 4 cylinder Yamaha uses a prop that's generally in the 13 1/4 - 13 1/2" diameter range. The V6s are usually in the 14 1/4" range and larger. Send me a pic of the prop or post it here and if we can see the hub we can tell what make it's for. Measure the diameter and that'll probably tell what model it's for.

thanks for the help guys. I am going by his shop tomorrow for something else and will get model numbers and take a pic and post. I know the measurments are 13 3/4x19. Not sure of the model numbers though.

Hopefully his boss will be there as well tomorrow as he should know, since he is the boss.
