I just purchased a 5 h.p. 1975 mariner and i can not figure out how i can tilt the motor up. It seems to be locked in place. Can anybody assist me on this?
If it is in reverse it will not tilt .Only nutural or forward gear. It is that way to protect it if you hit something or want to go backwards and then locked keeps the motor from lifting.
