I'm curious how you even know it's a 350, since they look identical to almost every other small block ever made.
But even just the color of the engine would help.
Well it is a 1970 OMC outdrive the engine is mostly painted blue but there are scratches exposing chrome. On the top of the engine it says 346250 GM K8 and it is an 8 cyl. engine.
The guy said it was a 1997 chevy 350. I just want to verify.

Among other problems I see an unsafe rubber fuel line between the pump and carb...wonder how much else on that thing is not safe...i.e. starter, carb, alternator...
That's no 1997 model engine. At the very least it would have center bolt valve covers. With perimeter bolt valve covers, that engine is almost certainly a 1986 or older.
