Hello All,

Great site here. Been lurking around for a bit now and figured I should join and introduce myself.

Me:
Originally from Orange Beach, Al, now landlocked in Austin, TX. Had an 87 Wellcraft 210, but it seemed overkill for the lakes and fishing here, so she stayed in Bama many years ago. I've been on the casual hunt for a dual purpose boat and this whole freshwater thing. (I dig it so far)

Boat (The important part)
Happened upon a 96 Astro 18 FSX a few days ago and pulled the trigger because I had been w/o a boat for way too long. Seems to run solid and most things work. I'll have to dig into the repair threads and do some research on repairing the floor. 150 Merc hangin off the back. (This is my first outboard) Still learning about the boat and trying to do all the research I can so as to keep from asking the question that's been covered 10,000 times and keep my flame suit intact.

Again great site!

Town Lake in Austin was our favorite place to get day trips in down in Austin, big lake north of town offered some fun too. You may be land locked from salt water, but there are some inland lakes worthy of a trailer ride too.

Thanks!

I gotta do some checking around for sure. Apparently Granger is a lot of fun too. I picked the boat up in Llano, TX and drove past Lake Buchanon. Supposedly the Striper capital of Texas. Everything down here that isnt constant level is just so miserable looking and low that there are almost no places to launch.

I'm in between both of you and am looking forward to it warming up and hope the lakes are filling up here.

Buchanon is a great lake when full. When has water in it SLOWLY follow someone up the river to the falls--great trip.
Lake Travis is cool too.
