I don't hate him, just the way he goes about things.....
So, I don't know, I guess I'll cross that bridge when the time comes.....
He will be a tough one to replace, but I'll manage......
We will just have to see who the Rehubs roll out in 2008

We all have issues, addressed by others, which we do not agree with. That does not give us Carte Blanche to just spew hate.

Fortunately, in this country (US) we have a little system known as-VOTING.

We have less than a 50% (eligible) (pathetic) voter turnout.

If you voted and lost, so be it, live with it. If you didn't VOTE, your voice is null and void.

I find it hard to fathom why anyone would ignore the privilege of voting. Don't give me: "There's no one to vote for".

That's lame, at best.

Hugo is COUNTING on his countryman's inability to vote in an honest election.

I know, the next comment will be: "Bush stole the election". Sorry, your numbers didn't add up. Recounted-to the point of ridiculous.

The media never reported the FINAL results. Hmmm, that makes we wonder about what us "vidiots" are being fed.

I asked for a link to read the content of his speech....
Originally I stated that I'm not surprised that there is alot of hate for us....
I changed it to "Dubya" for OJ's benefit.....
I can see how it could gat real old having someone else's dogma shoved down your throat for years & years...
I do blame Dubya for continuing to govern in "Cold War" fashion.....
The vote tangent is moot, Dubya sits in the Oval office...
Just because he "won" doesn't mean that I agree with the way he is doing things.....
In fact, I diapprove.....

Many Americans are fed up with:

-"we're second best".

-our values are "old fashioned".

How in the world did so many people from a third world country aquire the wealth they have recently?...and why dont they invest in their own beloved country? or Cuba for that matter? ummm?

having spent a considerable amount of time in VE,in fact I will be there 10 days in october to purchase a house, its obivous not many posters have a clue about VE. Chavez is spending millions there in aid to poverty and education, not much else but its a start.
I personally dont care for his rethoric nor is government but once ya leave caracas americans are very well liked.

as far as sending oil elswhere trust me he is working on it, PDVSA just sold one gulf coast refinery and is hunting a buyer for another. I think venezuela own 3 refineries in the US now,all are on the market.
once venezuela does not own the refineries they will have no need to ship oil to them.

ya think he is a blowhard at the UN ya outta see him spew on VE TV, makes me glad I dont speak spanish .
the climate of south FL is very similar to coastal VE. quite a bit of the wealthy class left VE for political reasons.

but overall the people of Venezuela are quite friendly warm and open, couple that with year round lows in the mid 70's and highs in the mid 80's and no tornadoes or hurricanes and kick butt fishing I will retire there within the year or so .
so I guess while Bush wont talk to a leader,even a democratically elected one, we will get more of the same.
actually until about 2000 the US had very friendly relations with the US.
you wont believe how many US companies do business and have production in VE.
go into any outback steak house,chili's,applebees or macdonalds in caracas and you will see.
go to any marina and count the number of yamaha's from the US,mercs and jonnyrudes.
look at how many US auto's are on the roads of VE.
I cant believe the US manufactured so many 4 door chevies and fords .
its amazing that there are very very few wrecking yards there, they tend to fix almost everything.
but ya have to get past the BS rethoric and look at whats actually happening.
just as many many political leaders,US ones included, have used fear words and inflamatory speeches to whip up the masses so does Chavez.
I just hope the votors of VE wake up this december.
