Hull Vin number question...

Just got a Pontoon Boat, don't have title as of yet....where is the Hull Vin #?
Do I need this for the insurance company?
Looked for it could not find it anywhere!:confused:

On pontoons the vin no. is usually on the transom often stamped into the metal. But sometimes it is on a tag underneath on the 1st crossmember if its not. Yes at least my insurance co. wanted the vin. no. for coverage.

IN GA . the # is called HEN# . all boats mfg after 1973 had one . now all boats has to have one to git it regustared . i had 2 i had regustared and used the for several years . this law was just interduced a few years ago .i had to fill out a form and send it in . the lockle game warden came and put one on each boat . one on teh right side back and one under the dash or if no dash it went under the lip on the side or some where out of sight .
