hull wax or sealant?

Just bought a 18 hydra sport cc..The previous owner put some sort hull sealer or somthing all over the hull..Appears they rubbed it on with a spong or somthing..Does anyone knowwhat this stuff is? How can i take it off?

It sounds like the "old school" trick of penetrol or Vaseline......it could even have been hydrocote. UNKNOWN

Polishing compound, elbow grease, electric variable speed polisher....... yes, work ahead of you

Go to Lowe's. Buy some TSP (TriSodiumPhosphate) Mix per instructions. Scrub well. Then do as Bob prescribes.

Possibly could be PoliGlow or Vertglass (or one of those restoring products). PoliGlow makes a prep/stripper product that you can use to take it off. Be ready to re-polish or wax or something, as I imagine the original stuff was put on for a reason.

thanks for the repleys..funny thing is the paint is nice under it..owner said it was put on to keep it clean.. he said he wold just have to spray off dirt and blood easy..I dont want to use any kind of cleaner that will dull the paint under it.. maybe pressure wash it?
