Howdy all,
Broke a pin in my Eagle 320 and have not had much luck finding a back case for it. Will pick up a plug from Fry's and do a fix on it.

I have been considering upgrading to a Sounder/GPS and was wondering if anyone has used either the Hummingbird Matrix 97 or the 787c2i with the quadrabeam transducer which gives a wider viewing area? Both are color which I believe is almost a must in an open boat in bright sunlight! The 320 was really almost invisible at times in my Tracker Super Guide 14.

They both are dual frequency and come standard with the dual transducer which can be upgraded to the quadbeam!

I am trying to get into the Lake Washington Cuthroat fishery and the Kokanee in some of the local lakes? Also sounds like the quadbeam would be good for when our Sockeye fisheries are open on Lake Washington.

Any advice or reference to other sounders that might meet the requirements for above type fisheries would be appreciated!

Catching some high lake trout and hope to get to the Kokes in August, but believe I need a wider beam sonar?

If you really want detail, those 787 and 987 are something else. I'd have a 987 but I just can't see getting rid of my new Lowrance's. If you go to Crappie.com and do some searching you can find pictures of actual views and what they are seeing.

I have the 787c2 with the dual beam transducer. I am happy with it. It is great the bright sun here in Florida. No problem seeing the screen at all. The resoulution is 640x480 and shows very good detail. I would buy one again.

I agree with bhile you can't go wrong with a lowrance. I would also consider a furuno sounder, my opinion there one of the best. I've heard alittle good about humminbird, but they just don't seem to last as long as other brands. Let me know if you need one.

Glad to get some input. I have been out in the Elliot Bay area with my son who bought a Lorance LCX 28.

He hasn't read the book enough on it and gets pretty frustrated, but it sure looks like a good machine! I showed him a few things, since I went to the Lowrance emulators and downloaded the LcX 27 and found out a few things for him. That is a good selling point for Lowrance, since one can simulate on their computer!

Navigation and maps were great coming back to Alkai point in the dark from Dolphin point on Vashon Island.

Only got one small Silver, a few shakers and sand sharks at dark.

I picked up a Seafinder 320 from Craigs list and will do some more research until next spring for a colored sounder.

I guess Lowrance/Eagle sold out again?
