I have a 2002 blue wave tunnel hull and I need to know where to put the si puck. A picture would help

Im running a 17 pitch prop and would like to know if a 19 pitch prop would work better. I have a Yahama 150 VMAX. at 5800 rpms Im running 41 mph.

Prop questions go in the prop forum. The Humminbird puck should be where there is a clean stream of water with no strakes or disturbances upstream of it.

Your right, a picture would help!

IF you are running 5800 rpm you are a little too high. 5400-5600 is ideal. every degree in pitch is equal to about 200 rpm, up in degree = down in RPM. go from 17 to 19 would drop you 400 RPM. I am running a 99 Yam 150 2stk on my 18' mflats boat and hittin 5500 trimmed and jacked properly. She'll do 53. As far as the transducer mount location, either side of the transom closest to the center and below the waterline. A good idea is to google search imnages of your same boat and look at the transom pics to get an idea. Hope that helps

The motor is inset in to the back of the boat and the si transcuder will be blocked on one side by the lower unit. cant put it in the center because its a tunnel hull

As a sidescan owner, I can tell ya it aint gonna work. Any obstruction kills side scan.

Richard is correct. It sounds like a challenge for your tunnel style boat, but pictures will help to be sure. You can add a second SI transducer and a splitter cable, such that you have a seperate port and starboard scan.
