It just occurred to me that in the event of a disastrous situation such as the potential for hurricane Earl.
That Phone lines may be Out, Cell phones may be Out, and the Television may be out, and Radio may be out, as well as power.

Some basic communications that may not be affected, some may be some forms of internet connections with satellites, only if you have satellite access and power. Please feel free to post Help Messages, or Inquiries, HERE

There may be someone nearby that can help, or get the proper help you may need in your situation. "Just hoping to help in this developing situation."

This is what Amateur Radio is all about.

Many Ham radio people are the backbone of the emergency communications.

Re: Hurricane Earl Help Post

This is one of the reasons why I went to an aircard for internet access. Its part of my hurricane plan and allows me net access "on the go." I can do my banking, send/receive email, etc. via my lap top, anywhere that I can hit a working cellphone tower.

In fact, I once took digital photos, patched my camera into my laptop via a USB cord, uploaded the photos to photobucket and posted them on this site in a thread .... from my boat. The mobility that an aircard gives you, is just great!
