I seem to have a problem with the hydrafoil. I get up on plane quicker, but if I hit a wave, sometimes I lose plane and power, I then have to throttle up again. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes, the fins dig in and the drag pulls back the boat.<br />Dangerous when cornering, that why I took mine off.

Ditto. I had a hydrofoil on one day. It messed a bit with the handling of my boat with little noticable benefits. So I took it off and returned it for a refund. Some others here seem to like them, but I didn't.

If you have trouble planing, go with trim tabs and lose the wingy thingy. If hydrofoils were a good thing they would be optional from Merc, Volvo etc. Why would they sacrifice that revenue to others?

I have been the hydrofoil route. Get rid of it. Then save your money and get trim tabs if needed. I bought the Smart Tabs and now swear by them because no adjustments and ease of installation. Do not know if they will work for you.
