Hydraulic Steering Upgrade?

I have recently been looking into upgrading from my single cable teleflex steering system to the bay star(by teleflex) hydraulic steering system for my 2005 glastron with a 150 merc XR6.

I think that this engine is just simpliy too much torque and power for a 17 foot boat with a single cable set up. I have an anode to help balance engine torque but if you arent holding on with 2 hands after you hammer it to pull tubes up or
skiers, the wheel can slip out of your hand and turn hard to the right.

It also is difficult to turn when it is not trimmed properly or when getting up on plane. WHen i get up on plane, I only need half throttle and i pop right out of the water, but within those few seconds it is very, very hard to steer until i can trim up. any help would be appreciated.

heres the system i am looking at:

I Don't Think anybody will Argue that Up-Grading to Hyd. Steering isn't a Great Up-Grade.........

And,..... Yes,.... It Should pretty much Cure your Torque- Steer Issues..........

Re: Hydraulic Steering Upgrade?

thanks bond-o....i know that hydraulic steering will be an upgrade but what i was really trying to get at was if this system seemed to fit my application and to see if anyone has had similar experience and after upgrading, how much of a difference did it make...
