Hello!

I am interested of mounting a Tilt system to my -76 115hp Merc. Is it possible to find new resonable good priced parts to do this or should I try to find a old used system from Ebay instead?

You probably wont find a new tilt and trim setup for your model except maybe used on ebay or someone having one laying around. You would need 2 hydraulic cylinders 4 hydraulic lines and pump/motor.All of which are pretty $$$$.I am not sure if there is a conversion kit. There is also the option of installing a hydraulic jack platte which by the time your done probably cost you about as much as gathering up all used parts.I am not trying to sell you anything but the jack platte is the way I would go.Better performance and its new.jack platte.JPG

I've looked araound a bit and is a little confused. Whats the difference between a power trim and tilt and a power lift plate? Does anyone know whick one that fitt my motor, what else do I need to get a fully functional tilt system?

Your best bet is look for a motor close to your year and HP.Then swap parts. The pic by Gomer is the part you need but expensive. Some are 1400$. Try boat salvage yard on the net.Lots of places.
You might find a motor cheaper. But being a 76 you might not ever get it apart. J

Guztav...I specialize in buying, refurbishing and selling the type of trim system you need...i list them on ebay all the time...i have several complete systems that im getting ready to list...BUT if anyone wants a GREAT system (and it is not my listing), there is one on ebay right now..it is a high pressure pump built exclusively for the high HP 1400's and 1500's...it is a complete system NEW...im seriously thinking about buying it for myself, thats how nice it is! Anyone wanting to add a good PT&T system to their mercury engine should expect to pay around $500 +...good systems are out there...if the seller will not give you close-up detailed pics, don't buy it...

I've been searching Ebay but i can't find what your talking about. Could you please give me the link?

What Ebay username do you have, so I can find your system when they are out for sale?

Re: Hydraulic tilt to Mercury 1150 1976

Yes Gutav...that is the system im talking about...it is a listing by a guy who's ebay id is paramedic something...my ebay id is fuller4099..not monkmonk on ebay...i have all kinds of parts for the Mercury Trim systems...im in the middle of refurbishing complete sets now, but it might be a week before i get them ready for auction...it takes a lot of work to get these systems back in top operating condition...and believe me, most of the used pumps are defective in some way or another...8 out of 10 used pumps have trouble holding the engine in one particular position for an extended period of time...it is called "bleed-off" because the check valves or check balls are not sealing and holding hydraulic pressure as they should...that 1400/1500 system is top notch...and again, i am not affiliated with that individual what-so-ever...i just know a good system at a good price...money well spent !

Re: Hydraulic tilt to Mercury 1150 1976

Thanks alot for the info! I've contacted the seller to hear if he could get a lower shipping cost to me in Sweden, because it was listed to over 400 bucks! He thought he could save some money on that and would contact me again, I hope to hear som good news about that.

The system that you are restoring, what do you usually sell them for? Is it around 500 bucks that you mentioned earlier?

Sorry for bad english :p

Re: Hydraulic tilt to Mercury 1150 1976

Hello Guztav...yes, i can supply a system that has a completely remanufactured pump...it is a complete "plug and play" fully tested system for $500...my systems come with everything, the 3 button controller with wiring harness (which the 1400/1500 system on ebay does not have)...my systems are like new and come with everything, just as it would have came from the Mercury Factory...right down to the little chrome cover caps for the Ram mounting bolts...BUT i don't know about the cost to ship to Sweden...i will investigate that for you and see what i come up with...Thanks!
