Ok I think I got it, the needle is used to penetrate the steering cable jacket to inject a thin lubricating oil throughout the length of the cable!<br /><br />Boy, he better hope his steering cable has many needle marks, preferably in inconspicuos places!<br /><br />Oh man, I need to get a life! LOL

Ha Ha I enjoyed all of that. The nature of it may have been a bit dubious but it was fun all the same<br /><br />auslez

I would think, as you being an attorney, you would know the requirements for a person to possess a hypodermic syringe and needle. There are only a few reasons you may legally possess them. <br />1. You are a licensed medical doctor/dentist.<br />2. You are a diabetic on inlsulin.<br />3. You are a licensed embalmer.<br />4. You are a licensed EMT or medical tech, on the job. <br /><br />Even if your client was using the "fits" to lube his engine parts, he still does not have the legal right to possess these items.<br />Why am I so sure as to what I posted? I am a former licensed Embalmer and I am retired after 30 years as a law enforcement officer and Deputy Corner.<br />Does the term, "Land Locked Bottom Feeder ring a bell?" ...Bob in Calif...

Captain Bob, wasn't my clients boat (he was just staying there), needles were not on his person - looking for an excuse as to why they would be on the boat - other than my client putting them there.

boils down to the element of possession - as you so clearly point out needs to be established by the prosecuation

"........it's your job to do everthin' in your power to prove your clients innocent......"<br /><br />Is it a lawyer's job to insure he does everything in his power to get his client off or is it his job to insure his client receives all the rights guaranteed by the constitution?

I've used them to put glue under the vinyl tiles. Didn't need the needle but the plastic section dispurses thick liquid very well. Oh soliciter, were any drugs found? Or was it just the syringes?

crab - thanks for hanging in the coversation - had fun with it - some people do in fact call me MJY (trying not to boast though)<br />thought - you are thinking right!<br />roscoe - the reason the charges were dropped is because the pressure on the prosecution - the budget cruch in San Diego - and the fact I showed the prosecutor the print out of this dialog and pointed out there were no drugs found with the needles.

The San Diego Police Department should open up a new section called "The Thought Police". Then they could go after a 99% conviction rate. Joe would be responsible for the 1%.

"The Thought Police"!! Sounds too much like the movie/book "1984", or Mel Gibson in "What Women Want", there are times when I wish my woman could read what's on my mind ;) and times when I'm glad she can't,

tks joeyoung, I am glad this thread helped out. Also I do believe, this could be a great way to lubricate a steering cable! Good luck in the future, regards
