I am at a stand still putting OMC lower unit together

I posted earlier with this question but didnt get much response. I am at a loss as to what to do so I thought I would try again. If anyone has ANY ideas or tricks as how to do this, it would be much appreciated.

How do you get the clutch dog arm to fit together with the shift rod when slideing the prop shaft into the lower unit housing. I just cant figure out how this can be done seeing how there is no way to get your hand down there, or any tools. Please if someone has any suggestions pass them along.

This is a 1986 OMC 800 stringer outdrive with the mechanical shift. I am pretty sure I need to take the Forward gear bearing housing assembly out, but, how do you get that thing out. I cant seem to get it to budge. Is there a hidded srew somewhere??
