Re: I did a stupid thing today!!!

I have a skeg-guard on my Merc, I hit a submerged log standing on end in the river. It took out 1/3 of my skeg and seriously bent one of my prop blades (SS Laser II).

Installation took me 15 minutes once I had the drill plugged in and it fit like a glove, I kinda like how it looks actually but if you don't like the polished look a can of black paint will solve that. For the price it can't be beat and if I whack this thing off I will have the skeg refurbished properly by a welder.

The handling and performance returned as soon as it was installed and they shipped it next day to Canada on my FedEx account, perfect timing since we were going camping that weekend.

I consider it money well spent for a well engineered product, I would buy again.

Re: I did a stupid thing today!!!

and I hate when people watch me.

I know exactly what u mean, Im not new to boating and usually can load my boat up by myself with no issues first time but it always seems when its windy and rough there are 5 people lined up to use the boat launch and they are all tapping their feet and of course no help and thats the time it takes 5 tires to get in and yes i did the same thing is a similiar situation my only advantage was that the boat lauch was gravel so it just dug in and scratched it up a bit.

The worst part was I was trimming it up when he said your sliding back wards after the wake from the wave runners were coming into the launch. He just continued to watch me so I hoped out to latch it even though the tongue of the trailer was out of the water and the rest is history.
