I have a skeg-guard on my Merc, I hit a submerged log standing on end in the river. It took out 1/3 of my skeg and seriously bent one of my prop blades (SS Laser II).
Installation took me 15 minutes once I had the drill plugged in and it fit like a glove, I kinda like how it looks actually but if you don't like the polished look a can of black paint will solve that. For the price it can't be beat and if I whack this thing off I will have the skeg refurbished properly by a welder.
The handling and performance returned as soon as it was installed and they shipped it next day to Canada on my FedEx account, perfect timing since we were going camping that weekend.
I consider it money well spent for a well engineered product, I would buy again.
