The motor I found out is a 1971. It's a 55 hp Chrysler outboard. I can't find much on the boat except a 1969 Chrysler boat line up article, and one rebuild of a 1966 on this site. Does anyone know of any other Polaras 254's? I guess It really is a Lone Star. Chrysler bought them out in 1965. The moorings say Lone Star too. The tag on the back says Chrysler. I can't make out anything else. This boat was a family boat that was handed down twice. The grandson couldn't afford to get it up and running and probably needed money so he put it up for sale. I thought it was a great deal for $500.00 and the fishing gear too. The motor needs a carb cleaning but it should be fine. There is one little screw hole that I found in the hull from when he put the floor in. I will need to patch that. The steering wheel needs to be bolted on, a few wires to button up, and some seats to make. I am wondering what would be a good style seat arrangement for this boat? I may just strip the paint next year and repaint her. Has anyone ever owned one of these and if so how did you like it? This boat was only a fresh water boat

JMK welcome to tin can alley :D and iboats . Looks like a sweet project and at 19' you have alot of interior options . Follow along on most of the Starcraft restos going on as they will be pretty much the same as what you are getting ready to go through ( alot less than the glass boat guys ;).
