Huh. I started this post saying--"Like CN Spots said, you can't put an Apple OS on a PC, but you can put a PC OS on a Mac..." But then I did a little Googling and found this:

I have no idea how well that works, if at all, but apparently it is possible. If you decide to do it, proceed with caution.

Yo Jax,

If you still have questions about a Mac... I can probably help you. I've been a Mac person for over 20+ years. I currently own a 15" MacBook pro, 3 macbooks (one for each daughter and one for the wife), and old Graphite iMac and other Apple products. I would never consider buying a PC because of the flawless track record I have with my Apples.

I would have love to let you know sooner, but I just joined last week... sorry about that.

Let me know where you stand and we can go from there. Ditch the PC and come on over to the good stuff.

joza; thanks. no problem. i got the i-mac setting here and haven't done much with it yet. i need to back up the files and then dump them when i get around to it.
so far I'm happy with it and found out what i wanted to know. will be getting a mac book some time in future.
the i-mac we now have loos kinda like a mixing bowl turned upside down with the screen fastened to pivot on top of it( hope that makes sense)

any way it doesn't take up much room and now the jill 1/2 wants to put it on the boat to watch movies as it has a real nice screen and plays dvds; it is smaller than a dvd player and flat screen and looks kinda neat.
any way the apple deal so far is a win win for us
