i need a new crankshaft and cant seem to find a used one anywhere

i need a used crankshaft for a 1996 mercury sportjet 120xr. bought one off ebay but it was for a regular sportjet 120 not a 120xr. the piston journals were too narrow for the 120xr bearings. so if anybody has a used crankshaft please pm me. i cant afford $800.00+ for a brand new one from mercury. thanks and sorry if thius is not allowed but i dont know where else to turn at the moment.

When you ordered the new crank shaft did you order for a mercury or force motor.
1996 force by mercury is what you have if it is a force motor. Basically you have a chrysler block with
updated mercury electrical and lower gear case. Its one those things where you have to be
specific with makes,models,and serial #.
When I got my 1994 120 force by merc a thought I had a mercury motor, but I found out
quickly that its a force motor with some mercury upgrades.
Kinda like buying a lawn mower that has a specific name on it , but may have a Kohler, or briggs motor on it
which can make ordering parts or warranty repairs a pain.

In the late 90s, mercury started using longer connecting rods with bigger rod bearings and crank center bearings. You need a crank from one of these long rod engines--sorry, I can not help you with numbers. According to my piston guide, a crank from a 1996-1999 120 0utboard should fit.

first off thanks to all with their input. i did manage to find another from ebay with the proper 13/16 crank journal and a 13 spline end shaft. hopefully it has the correct stroke for my motor. (fingers crossed) now on to my next question. when i bought the boat it had a bunch of new parts. mechanical and electrical. red stator , new trigger, coils, carbs and the part in question.. a brandy new flywheel with a part #0f 261-859236c. is the the correct flywheel for this motor? im still trying to figure out why the crankshaft broke in the first place. the flywheel has a slight bend in the teeth and the starter has a good size chunk out of it. im thinking someone tried starting it while it was running....... any thoughts ?????? again i thank all you guys with the knowledge and willingness to share.
