I have a 84 488 merc lower control cabel is bad how do i change it
if i have to drop the lower end how hard is it
2] I have gear oil coming out of prop in the middle can some one help???

Sorry, I can't help you with the cable, but the leaking oil sounds like a prop shaft seal. Not difficult to change.

Ayuh,....

You have to remove the Whole Drive,.... Not just the lower unit....
