I haven't been around much lately... and may not be for a while longer. The wife and I are splitting up. It's the first thing we've agreed on in a long time (to split). It doesn't look like it's gonna' be a nasty split but it still sucks :(
I thought this only happened to other people.

Nope..happened to me once...And almost a second time...(Still might..who knows)

Sorry to hear the bad news. Hope you can get everything worked out on paper. It sure beats payng all the money to a lawyer.

The 'do-it-yourself' divorce seems to be getting more popular these days.

Good luck,

H.

Re: I thought we were immune

It's allways sad to hear when "it didn't werk out".
But it's such a rare and prescious (SP)thing to remain buds afdterward. If you have kids, it's even more important. I guess I'll allways resent getting dumped by my EX, but had she lived a lie, and stayed with me, she never would've had a chance to persue her heart---And I never would've met Mrs 12Footer (Carol). Carol is the best thing that has ever come into my 50year long life, outside of my three younguns.
I'm so glad to hear you guys will remain friends. With me and the EX, it's like bro and sister. Her folks are like my own mom and dad, and I see them often.
I hope your future is better for the long term, in spite of the rough emotional seas in the near future. Hang tough. The pain and loneliness will go away with time, and only time.

Yes it's a sad deal when this happens.
I feel very fortunate to have had mine 32+ years so far, but have seen quite a few go by the wayside, some good, some bad.

The toughest part about it is if there are kids involved.

They don't understand what is going on.

But like was stated, hang in there and it will work out for the better, you'll see.

Feel free to email me if you need to just talk.
grizzlybear310@peoplepc.com

I hope it works out for you.

After my experience, I figured the next time I would try pistols at 20 paces, winner take all.

My ex was dating a lawyer when she left, and would only date lawyers. Every time she got a new boyfriend, I'd be back in court fighting her new free legal advice.

She finally married a lawyer, and when everyone agreed that our daughter should come and live with me, it cost me $2500 in legal fees to get the paperwork done properly. And that was when everyone agreed to everything.

I have to admit I framed that first child support check she sent me, though. Never even cashed it!

I hope it works out better for you

Re: I thought we were immune

I thought it was going to happen to me a couple of months ago and I had all these wild thoughts going through my mind. Wife even called the "MAN" on me after gouging my face. They took one look at me and almost took her for the ride. Only thing I regret is my two kids had to see everything. It didn't take her long to get right after that. Still here after thirteen years. If children are involved, by all means try to work it out. Good luck guy.

Magster65, I too, wish to express that I am sorry to hear your marrage has ran upon troubled Waters! I, don't mean to pry, but like others, hope that counseling has been considered before abandoning ship! Not just for the sake of the kids, but for yalls piece of mind in the future, in reflecting if you tried everything at your disposal to work things out. If I may, I pray for a peaceful guidance to you, your wife, and children through the storm. My E mail is GodsBeast@cox.net if my shoulder or ear, may be of any assistance. May God be with yall.

Check in when time permits.

We are all GodsBeast's

Not to change the subject But If you need to hide any personal property to keep it out of the courts hands she would never think to look for that Tolly in Minnesota. :p I would promise to keep the carbs from gumming up :D

Hang in there bud...The future is seldom as bleak as we imagine it.

I hope it all works out for the best no matter what the outcome.

If you can reach some sort of accomodation that allows you to both live in the same house with your boy that is the way I'd go. Nothing is more important than your boy - nothing.
