I have a 15 ft 1985 mfb Caprice with a 1985 85 hp force that I use mostly for fishing. I have live bags and stringers that I use to keep the fish alive til its time to go home. The boat may see 2-3 days of towing tubes or skiers a season.

You can fish out of any boat. Have an extra cooler for the fish you catch, get a 5 gallon bucket with aerator for live bait and you are ready to go. I saw a guy fishing a tournament on the flats in Port Mansfield, TX out of a pontoon boat once....

Re: I want to fish out of this boat but.......

I had a 1995 bayliner Capri model 1950 (19ft boat I/O mercruiser eng) that I used about 90% for fishing.

Biggest draw backs I found were the carpets were great for skiers and swimmers that were often barefoot but were impsossible to keep clean under heavy fishing pressure, think shark blood all over them. Same for the large seat cusions my wife liked to lay out on. Those things were designed for cruising and not bloody fish and cut squid.

Further the seat placement is great for cruising with friends and family, tubing, going to beach etc but really just limits fishing space.

lack of livewell/baitwell and built in fish boxes was also an issue (yes i had the bucket and aerator but wanted the hard mounted). Also Fishing amenities like raw water washdown.

Now I did love that bayliner and it was a GREAT starter boat for me. But as I started venturing off shore and heavy fishing I traded up in boat size. I used to fish the bayliner over reefs about 10-15 mi off shore in calm seas.
