I want to install a CD stereo system in my boat. If the lake is rough, I think a CD player will skip? I know my truck skips when on a bad road. What do you Pro's use?

Look for a player with a big enough buffer, probably 10 seconds or so.

Mars, If you run at high speed, the wind + engine noise drowns out the music anyway. The point is that the quality of the sound of the CD at cruising speed is poor, as it is with a redio, tape player or MP3. When you are stopped or idleing, the sound of CD, MP3 or Tape is much better. Bottom line is it just doesn't matter if the CD skips, if you cannot hear it anyway, due to wind and engine noise.

There are some higher quality CD players if that is the way you really want to go. I use Sirius Satellite. And I also use my MP3 player. As far as not being able to hear the radio at higher speeds? I run almost 60 mph and have no problem listening to it.
