Well I finally got the upholstry and am having a hard time figuring out how to fold it aroung the corners. I don't like the "folded" corner look.

How do I make the corners look "smoother"?

Not to bad for a first attempt, all you need to do is practice a bit. Some place i posted a short video on basic's , ill try to find it for you it will make it much eaiser.

Most of all dont give up, it's actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it, here's a pic of a side rail, not perfect but it work's, and she's home brewed...

Side rails are the simplest of all because no sewing needs to be done...just stretching and stapling with a little heat gun here and there for wrinkles.

Thanks for the encouragement TG!

The sewing idea sounds good, but I don't have a machine and I don't know how to sew.

I have made some progress, not what I want, but very close, so far.

I'm making progress, much better, but not there yet. I did get rid of the folder corners. I was using a hairdryer for heat. I bought a heat gun today, works soooo much better.

Have you saturated your foam with water and then take a iron and steam it out? That will give you quite a bit of more volume to work with.

So you soak with water, then do you squeez out what you can, then iron it with a towel over the foam?

No towel just high heat and dont squeeze out all the water let the iron steam it out that is what works the foam.

What you are trying to do is duplicate what an upholsterer would be doing with a steamer. You are just going to be doing it backwards...creating steam from the inside rather than the outside.
