Well folks, I am back home from the get together.

Would like to start off by saying a couple of thank you's.

First to iboats for allowing me to use their name for this and for giving us the door prizes for this event, which turned out not to hard to figure out how to give out.

Secondally to snapperbait for providing our shirts for this event.

And last but not least to gonfishn and ndemge for having the nerve to meet me. :D

That's right, just the three of us were all there was, but we had a good time anyway.

Also want to pass along a big thanks to the fine people at Alhonna for putting up with me and working with me at the last moment.

Now, the weather could have been better, but all in all it was nice and had a great lakeside cottage and caught fish.

Nothing better than catching fish, good food, and making new friends.

I hope for better next year.
Here are a few pictures from there.

This first one is a picture of my cottage. About 50 feet from the boat.

Now this next shot is of the inside pool and hot tub. ;)

This is the outside of the inside fishing house.
lo3.jpg

This is a great shot of a rainbow that happened Saturday afternoon.
lo4.jpg

This is a shot of what I call "The three amigo's"
From left to right is ndemge, myself and gonfishn.
Sorry, but it was kinda dark in there.
lo5.jpg

And this last shot kinda says it all. 'nuff said.
lo7.jpg

Once again, just wanted to say it was nice to meet gonfishn and his wife along with ndemge and his wife and son AJ, which was a hoot and to hope that the next one will be a lot better.

To everyone that helped out in this, a big THANK YOU

Oh yea, almost forgot.
The door prizes went to
ndemge-------$100 gift certificate from iboats
gonfishn-----$ 50 gift certificate from iboats
myself-------$ 25 gift certificate from iboats.
Thanks iboats.

SlowlySinking, my cottage was $79 a night and included everything you needed except your food.

Even had a dishwasher, fireplace and all. Real nice.

The food was priced like you would figure it would be for a place like this.

The people that worked there were super nice and like I said were willing to work with me at the last minute when I found out that my guaranteed number of people were not showing up.

Welcome Home, glad to hear all worked out and a good time was had by all.

SBN...I know you put tremendous effort into pulling this off and I thank you for that. Although I was not there in body I was in spirit. Some mighty things come from small seeds and you have sucessfully planted the seed although it is a small seed I for one believe it will grow.

If there is anything at all I can do to assist you please let me know.

Re: iboats get together aftermath

Big thanks to SBN and Iboats!

When I got home, I added up the receipts... $200 for the weekend. That includes fuel for my 300 mile round trip :)

We arrived around noon on saturday. SBN's wife came over to the cabin to say howdy... We put the lil critter down for a nap as crabby time was setting in. Then down to the dock to let him fish and talk with SBN a bit.

Dinner was great at the resturant, $30 for the 3 of us including tip.. we talked it up with gonfishn at dinner, sbn was too far away and busy concentrating on his dinner :p

covered boat slip was included at alhona

Did feal a lil bad for SBN and Gonefishn, as they both had 10 hour drives each way to get to the gathering.... and only live 100 miles from each other... as I only had a 2.5 hour trip each way.

I had a great time, and plan on driving to TN next year for #2

Hey Ryan, I was repayed. I got 3 days away with my wife and met 5 new friends. That's enough pay for me.

It's a funny thing Ryan why people won't/don't show up at these internet things.

Maybe they are afraid, maybe they might think they won't fit in, or maybe just think they are to good for other folks. Who knows. All I know is that my wife and myself enjoyed ourselves and in a world like we have today, that's all one can ask for.

Re: iboats get together aftermath

It was really nice putting a face to a name..trip was all that we expected except so few faces. As Sb said caught fish and had a good time. All fish stories are between those who attended. This so our stories will be the same.

Thanks to Carphunter and his recommendation to visit the Amish area my credit card took a small beating. It wasn't the cost of the food but the side shops after the eats..You did good CP and thanks for the tip..

Did make a stop in St.Louis and visited the Bass Pro Store..wow...and found out that the Lake we fished on did in fact have Muskys or at one time cause I saw a 51lb gator mounted on the wall from there.

Hmmmmm cost of trip...If you want to count me busting me musky pole to a car window or the eight lures I lost which blew over the side of the boat.(another story)..it was, to say the least or will be a Master Card experience on replacement cost to my tackle.

Did give Spinners wife one of my miracle lures(True Motion ) as a gift..said she liked the way it wiggled.. Hope to see more of you folks next year..Thanks Spinner for driving 650 miles just to see me when in fact we are only 100 miles from each other..lol..

Re: iboats get together aftermath

Glad ya all had fun. My son, a friend and I had to go to Springfield Ill, a week ago today to pick up my bucket truck I purchased off Ebay. Tried to see if I could leave it there and pick up it on the way back. But they wanted 25 bucks a day storage. I didn't realize how close we were until we were in Springfield and remebered about the get together. Another 3 or 4 hours and we could have been there :( . Just bad planning on my part. I really didn't expect to get my vacation on a short notice.

You can bet your sweet bippy the Mayfloat will be at the next one in TN.

Dang on it, missed out on a "T"shirt :( .....SS
