Re: iboats get together aftermath

SBN, Gonfishn, Ndemge, and all... Guys, I really felt like a bum starting about thursday afternoon and on thru the weekend.... :( I know I missed out on a great time... Really was my intent to attend at the begining of the get together idea... Summer work that I was counting on was/still is pitiful, hence the $$$ to travel was just not there.. Piggy bank's empty.. Add to that, a project boat thats sucking my wallet dry...

I'm putting at least $10 a week aside for next time...

Glad to see ya'll had a good time and had safe trips to, and back...

Hey SBN I know its a bit early but what is the area(Watts bar lake) like. Big lake? small lake?
Im sure your planning it to be there next year because of some really good reasons and being its already cold and dreary up here I sure would like to have something to dream about :)

Well Mike, it's some 73 mile long and covers some 39,000 acres with water and has over 750 miles of shoreline.

It is well known for crappie, bass, both large and small mouth along with 20 to 30 pound stripers.

It is used primarily for producing electric power with 2 or 3 generating plants on it including one nuclear plant.

I have fished it before out of Piney Point resort and liked it.
Caught plenty of bass on rattle traps and some nice crappie.

Guys I hate to put a damper on your excitement about Watts Bar, but be sure you check with the TWRA to make sure it is safe to eat the fish you catch there. It is a pretty dirty due to all the years of pollution from those plants. It is a fairly popular lake though. It is located in Kingston, TN. Also SBN, there are a few more lakes in that vicinity that may be of interest to you. There's Norris Lake, Douglas Lake, and Melton Hill. I usually go out on Norris and it's my favorite, but I don't know much about the fishing there. My uncle is a hardcore fisherman and he goes to Douglas every chance he gets. I'll try to stop by and say hey next year if I can.

Norris Lake Info

Douglas Lake Info

TWRA Fishing Reports

James

You can always come down here next year, We've got 5 bedrooms and there's plenty of room for bodies to sleep.
I can't imagine what went on in that hot tub after hours guys............
Thanks for sharing it with us, I appreciate the effort a lot even though I wasn't there. Iboats shows it's support even though they stood to gain nothing big. That says a lot also!
Well done guys, I'd love to come over and be a part of next years......
Ross

Not a problem at all SBN. Just thought I'd let you know just in case. I'll probrably stop by for a few if I can and say hey. It's only like 20-30 miles from me.

James

Well, guys welcome home and gald you all made it there and back safely. SOunds like we need to have a few more folks show up to raise the drinking level a little.

We, at least me and my boys, maybe wife if I talk really sweet to her, will definitely try to be there next year. Timing was simply just bad for us this time. But, really appreciate your efforts Spinner...and a big thanks to iBoats for the support as well.

And, BTW the way Spinner, we had a great time at your place while you were away. Hope you found it fairly clean and livable when you returned.
