Re: Iboats Offline overnight ?

Ditto on not being able to get on. I'm with Bigpond, and for about a month I've been unable to go to I-boats. Also couldn't get outboardrepairs.com (run by I-Boats). I tried to log on from work (not sure who work uses for isp) and had no joy. Tried pinging the site from home, work, same result, timed out. BUT when I called bigpond's service dept, they said they could access the site without any problems and that I-Boats must have been blocking me!

Don't know what went wrong but it wasn't just Optusnet, or Bigpond. Just hope it doesn't happen again...

Re: Iboats Offline overnight ?

Now I'm getting unusual problems on iboats at work, which is very serious as if that keeps up I'll have nothing to do!

I can get onto the site but pages freeze maybe 20% of the time and I have to restart IE to try again, and sometimes have to do this several times. Some threads are inacessible from work but work from my home computer on a different ISP and OS.

Methinks there might be some problems at iboats end that need a bit of attention.

Mine is working fine again and has been for the past week or so.
At one stage I contacted shareaproject mod about this and he was able to get iboats without any problems.
Whatever it was or is I believe is a regional problem with our links from this part of the world.
But that does not explain why all my other .com websites worked OK.

Big mystery.
POOF its Microsoft!!!!

Hi All,

i have to access Iboats from work as I cant get it from home and haven't been able to for months. I have bigpond dial up. Also had problem a year ago with Optus. The problem was very sporadic. I rebuilt my machine and it was OK for a couple of weeks then it reoccured. This is the info from DNSSTUFF.COM

Pinging www.iboats.com [209.63.105.8]:

Ping #1: * [No response]
Ping #2: * [No response]
Ping #3: * [No response]
Ping #4: * [No response]

Done pinging www.iboats.com!

Hop T1 T2 T3 Best Graph IP Hostname Dist TTL Ctry Time
1 0 0 0 0.4 ms
66.36.240.2 c-vl102-d1.acc.dca2.hopone.net. 255 US Unknown: 83b6b820
2 0 0 0 0.4 ms [+0ms]
66.36.224.243 ge4-0.core2.dca2.hopone.net. 0 miles [+0] 254 US Unix: 1:34:06.470
3 2 1 2 1.9 ms [+1ms]
66.36.224.34 ge2-0-241.core1.iad1.hopone.net. 0 miles [+0] 253 US Unknown: 8056a948
4 2 2 2 2.0 ms [+0ms]
206.223.115.46 ashburn-ibx.eli.net. 0 miles [+0] 251 US Unix: 1:34:11.379
5 2 3 2 2.9 ms [+0ms]
207.173.114.129 so-2-0-0--0.cr01.mcln.eli.net. 0 miles [+0] 250 US Unix: 1:34:11.413
6 28 28 29 28 ms [+25ms]
207.173.114.250 so-0-0-0--0.cr02.chcg.eli.net. 0 miles [+0] 250 US Unix: 1:34:11.567
7 77 77 76 76 ms [+48ms]
207.173.115.237 so-1-0-0--0.cr01.slkc.eli.net. 0 miles [+0] 246 US Unix: 1:34:11.984
8 109 113 96 76 ms [+0ms]
207.173.115.246 ge-0-0-0--0.gw02.slkc.eli.net. 0 miles [+0] 245 US Unix: 1:34:12. 41
9 * 76 78 76 ms [+0ms]
216.190.238.122 [Timeout] 0 miles [+0] 245 US Unknown: 81d08a68
10 * 81 82 76 ms [+0ms]
209.63.105.8[Destination Unreachable] lb1.iboats.com. -1 miles [+0] 0 miles [+0] 244 Unix: 0:11:11.576
11 * 76 * 76 ms [+0ms]
209.63.105.8[Destination Unreachable] lb1.iboats.com. -1 miles [+0] 0 miles [+0] 244 Unix: 0:11:11.605
12 * * * 99999 ms [+99923ms]
[Unknown] [Unknown - Firewall did not respond] -1 miles [+0]

Not completely sure what the last one means though looks indicative of a firewall issue at Iboats. There is an old posting at groups.google.com pointing to DNS issues but I'm surprised there isn't more about it on the internet. Boy I was glad to hear it isn't just my machine. I was gonna rebuild it again.

I'm get my network guys at work to have a look at it and see what they reckon.

Joe

Joe,
I had some other problems occur within the past couple of weeks which have gone away of their own accord.
As the Iboats page(s) were loading if I tried to drag down the page using the bar on the right I ended up with an entire screen that looked like a giant barcode label.
Wierd - Yes, Fix? unknown, problem just went away and once again this web site is working perfectly again.

Regards

Peter
