How they rate amongst other SIB's
Nice wooden floorboard sib, extended back cones compared to other brands cones.
Possibly thier price when new.
Hard to tell, rather expensive, at that time besides Avon and some other sib manufacturer, there were not many options to pick from.
There's info on newer 2.85's, but they are all the white ones with blue acsent. I'm not sure if the design is the same/ similiar. I've searched all over the internet and i cannot find even one of these.
Both colors were manufactured at same time, has prevailed the white/blue color. Check bottom pic.
Normally i would take that as a bad sign. I mean if something was good, then it was most likely popular, with a lot of people purchasing. amd atleast some info on the net.
Manufacturers change from time to time color configurations or vary slightly the previous models just to be in touch with modern tendencies. It's like the evolution of a VW beetle through the years, this doesn't mean that your sib model is a bad performer, if it's in perfect shape, including fabric, doesn't loose air through tubes & seams. You are a lucky boater to own a classic vintage "oldie"
