Hi all!
I have just bought an Evinrude V8. How can I indentify if this is a 250 or 300?
The normal small alu plate with the "e300"letters" are gone.
The heads looks to be marked 34079, maybe + a 7 at the end, if so, those heads are as far as I can find ?94 -> ?98 250 or 300 heads. Maybe a newer replacement part that could have been bolted to the engine later as the engine were sold as beeing a ?90 mod.
The block itself is marked 341275.
The engine are all white, but I can see at the top of the shaft where the powerhead is bolted, a dark blue color. I also see this dark blue color at places where the paint have flaked off the shaft, and on the inside of the lower part of the cowling.
I have a feeling this is a 250, though I bought the engine as a 300, the cowling are white and have XP300 on it.
Where those white 250s dark blue underneath - or do I have a dark blue engine that someone have resprayed at some time?
Where the 250 v8 delivered in blue?
