high, can anyone tell me, have you tried removing the plugs over the idle mixture screws on the Holley 2bbl carby on the 3.0l VP
motor ( in my case a 2005)

i have a new to me Glastron bow rider with this motor and i have noticed that it is a little rough idling at idle speed and at 1200 / 1500 rpm over that its all good.

i have plenty of experience with automotive Holleys and would like to have a go at the mixture screws, what do you reckon

i imagine you just stick a fine flat blade driver in the edge and pry the plug out

thanks for any help

I couldn't get a flat blade in there to save my life. Eventually I just used a cobalt drill bit and drilled a hole thru it big enough to access the screws. Then you might be able to pry it out that way, but I didn't mess with that since I can access mine fine thru the hole.

thanks for the reply, doing some research it seems some plugs are plastic, so i guess i,ll give it a shot and if all else fails i,ll do the same and drill a small hole.

seems from what I've read that these carbys are set up a little lean at idle to satisfy EPA requirements, however once richened up a little improves the idle quality and the off idle as into gear is selected, unfortunately we don't have the luxury of a clutch to help when engaging gear
