Idle screw causing electric choke to hang open after cool down

Hi guys,

I followed the popular youtube video to adjust the linkage cables, all good. But, I've been noticing that the electric choke on my 4.3 tends to stay open after the engine cools down. This looks to be caused by the idle screw putting too much pressure on the "lobe" (not sure what that part is called exactly) preventing the electric choke spring from retracting.

Is my choke spring too weak or is something else off? My idle RPM is 650 as it should be for this model.

With a cold motor, what happens to the choke if the throttle is moved to WOT and back to the neutral in neutral only? Don't start the motor. The choke should snap closed.

Ayuh,..... As GA says, yer choke is workin' right, as you have to cycle the throttle to Wot, to set the choke on a cold motor,....

We won't tell! LOL

A lot of people have never driven a car or boat with a carb. Electronic fuel injection does all the thinking for you.
