Idle speed setting

Does anyone know the proper idle speed for a 1994 Yamaha 90? Should this speed be set while the engine is in the tank or at the dock, or can it be set with the earmuffs on--or is there any difference?

Now would be a good time to go to the bottom of this web page and order a manual. It will specify the rpm setting. In general, the engine should be in the water and in gear. Don't set it in the driveway, you need back pressure and drag on the prop to set it right. The rpm is probably ~700-800 rpm I would guess.
