Took a 1959 5.5 Rude out yesterday... started well... high speed backed out 3/4 turn, low speed 1 1/2 turns.... After warm up, could not get any real power at open throttle or keep it running unless I had the high speed almost totally seated. Carb rebuild? any suggestions? When I had it almost seated, it ran ok... not great power , but ok.

Thanks,

Tom

Re: idle trouble

Thick cork gasket missing from the nozzle where it sticks down into the carb bowl? That allows fuel to bypass the high speed needle.
