If the motor don't work...

We just, got back from Tennessee. We were camping on the Caney Fork river. Didn't take the boat but there were several there. First thing i noticed these were smaller boats 12-14 feet jon or small v-hull aluminum. Even a couple port-a-boats. Seemed odd they all had 25 to 35 hp motors. Then I saw them running against the current. They run hard to the dam and drift down while fishing.

One guy went spitting and sputtering up stream. Came back down sideways motor steering was stuck hard left. Tried to go back up stream and came down doing a spin. Don't know how he kept from flipping. Next day he was out there again spitting and sputtering bouncing off the banks.

I was watchin some boys this summer and it took me a while to figure out that they didn't shut the motor off, it wouldn't run except wide open so they'd run/kill it over and over. It made me feel paranoid.

Their motors DO work/run. Just not PROPERLY!!!

Good fishing floating down the shallows from a dam. But personally, I would not be anywhere near current of that type without a properly running motor and a back-up plan for the "what if's".

To try the first day, the guy was dumb, to go back a second, he had a death wish.

To some people NOTHING is more important than the fish/fishing.

But, I love boating and fishing WAY too much to risk my life at it.
