Ignition coils

I have checked the coils and all readings on the spark side show 239ohms. Manual says at least 259ohms. Will the lower ohms cause miss spark or not a strong spark thus creating miss fires and shut off of engine. Next question is I have the low alarm continues to go off yet I have disconnect the wiring harness fron the vro. What wire or what can I do to silence? Engine is an E200TXECM 1998

Go to CDI Electronics.com for ignition trouble shooting procedures.

Are the wires to your oil tank disconnected ?? You may just have a bad horn.

Hi,
The 20 ohms difference you see isn't significant as long as they're all pretty much in the same range. That reading will change with temperature. A lower resistance will actually result in more energy going into the spark (ohms law i=v/r).
These coils will either fail open (pretty common) or shorted (not very common).
The way they usually fail is the ground strap that comes out of the housing corrodes away and/or loses contact with the inner connection, creating an open connection. It's a relatively easy fix to cut out the RTV and solder in a new brass strap.
