I have a 1998 50 hp Johnson and it will no shut down with the key, I have to choke it to shut it down. What part do I need to replace to fix this? mharr77@gmail.com
Normally the black/yellow wire is grounded to kill the ign. Look at the ign switch and see if the black/yellow wire is connected. if so, test the ign switch with an ohmmeter to see if it is grounded.
