I have a Chrysler 105 outboard. It was converted from an eletronic ignition to a breaker points and coil type. The engine does not run well and I have no idea what part numbers were used to convert it. The engine ran great after it was switched over in the seventies, and into the early eighties when it was stored. Since I have restored the boat I have had nothing but problems. The model is a 1057HD, serial # 1369. I am putting new carb parts on as soon as they come in. I have tried setting the timing to the book and no real help. The local "expert" knew less than I did as far as parts. I did get a matching points but no new condensor or any idea as to what kind of coil it was converted to. Any help would be helpful. I am an aircraft mechanic and know my way around manuals, but this is really tough finding help with Chryslers. Help would be appreciated!!!!

Re: ignition dilemma !

Let me get this right….The motor came with electronic ignition and it was changed with points??????? Why on earth would you want to do that?

Re: ignition dilemma !

It's a chrysler. Check out price for CD ignition
modules. Actually check out availability of CD
ignition modules.
