Seanreymond, thanks for the reply as well. I'll take a close look.

I have a similar set up. 2009 GLP-J

I agree it could be the trim switch wiring. It moves a lot with the throttle handle.

Also, does it die when you pull back to NEUTRAL or just to idle? If neutral, the nuetral switch may be causing you issues.

Neutral switch only has power when powering the starter.

What color is the wire that keeps blowing the fuse?

You are going to have to search for cut, pinched, etc. wires from dash to engine while wiggling them to try and isolate what wire is blowing it. I'm with Bruce and fleetwin as there should be an power feed wire in the control handle that could be chaffed. To find it, you will have to pull the shift handle.

Also 15 amp sounds to small, i believe it should be a 20 amp in there if it the one i'm thinking of.

I remember that thread on the hull truth, i linked it here a few months back. Can't rule it out, that was good info.

Removing the shift handle is easy.

Just pop off the rubber center boot. There is an allen head screw in the center. Remove that and wiggle off the handle.

Don,

2 years ago you gave some inforrmation to a member whose 3.0 Volvo kept blowing the ignition fuse. One of your suggestions was to disconnect the choke lead from the alternator. I have been having the same problem and disconnected the lead. No blown fuse. Are you suggesting a bad choke?

Thanks,

Dayl

I am new to this and not sure how to post a question I have about why I am blowing a fuse to my ignition. I've replaced the alternator and the ignition switch and still blowing fuses. Please help.
