72 857HD starting to investigate no spark and found cut wire at beginning.... at the main harness. Will post photo. the yellow wire is cut and what looks to be the original ground is separated. There is a replacement ground wire. But the yellow wire looks like it is a power lead. would like to see a simple electrical diagram because the service manual I bought (original service manual, chrysler crew) does not contain the diagrams.

Thanks for any help

I can't really see much detail in your picture, but then again I'm pretty blind too. Having said that, if your motor is a Magnapower ignition w/CDI box and distributor w/points, the very first thing I'd do is check/clean/ the points very well and ensure the mating surfaces are flat/true and lined up properly and gapped. (Not sure what your gap should be, but I think it is .014)

Before you go pulling your hair out diagnosing a no spark isues, do this first and you'll find life much easier. Many a CDI box has been changed out needlessly and labeled defective because of corroded/improper points! Good luck
