89 200 yammy , turning to the off position the motor stays running ? also fuel gauge not workin to , what to check , which wires go to what and is there any fuses envolved
First while the engine is running pull the kill switch. The engine switch takes the white wire (ignition) to ground. If the kill switch works, check the ignition switch for missing ground or bad swicth.

Have 1997 C115 Yamaha and this week developed similar problem. Starts and runs fine. Won't shut off every time with key in off position or kill switch removed. Runs for minute or so and then shuts off. Other times shuts off normally. Will check white ground wire.
