Was up at the Loch today and it was like glass.

I have covered about 15hrs on my engine at double oil and every time I run it it just seems to feel better. Anyway, when I set it up I was extremely cautious with the max advance and had it set at about 18 btdc... I set it to 21 tonight and woo hoo, it revs to 5800rpm and hits 47mph when I trim it out!!!!

The distributor cap keeps filling with grease from somewhere and i've been cleaning it constantly, problem is, when I took the cap off today the little carbon electrode had broken off and smashed to pieces inside. I don't want to have to spend $90+ for a dizzy cap when all I need is a little carbon conductor...

Does anyone know where I can get one?

It runs fine without it, just misses a little at idle but we cant be having that now can we... :) I don't know if there is more to come from this motor but I sure am chuffed! Can you rev them past 6000rpm?

Thanks...

Stan

The are available thru a Mercury dealer if the cap keeps getting grease in it it must be comeing down the shaft and there shouldn't be grease in that area, maybe a bearing going out or someone has really over greased the tower shaft

Iboats may even have it. It comes with the spring also. I'm not sure who will ship out of the U.S. You probably know. Like laddie said mercury has it or you may can find one that will work at a auto parts store. I don't have a manual on your inline 1350. What year is it? I think your RPM range is 5200-5600. I would be sure and find out! Sounds like you may need another prop. I would be sure and do not over rev it. Tim
