Have you guys considered the possibility that we are looking at the immigrant problems the wrong way?<br /><br />With their goal to cause harm to our economy - shut things down, etc; perhaps this isn't an immigration problem as much as it is a domestic terrorism problem?<br /><br />These people don't care about immigrating anymore - it's changed to willingfully wanting to do us harm!!<br /><br />IMO they are acting like terrorists and should be treated accordingly.<br /><br />Sean

Rather silly don't you think? Why would they shoot themselves in the foot? No, the day off thing is just publicity. They will only hurt themselves.<br /><br />Just look at the boycot of American stores in Mexico. They are planning it on the wrong places. Some are even Mexican owned!

This is silly. This issue is 100% entirely our fault. We won't enforce our own employment laws. We often say that coming here illegally is illegal, right? Well, so is hiring them, which is precisely why they are here in the first place. In fact they were not only invited, they have been paid to come here. We need to enforce our own laws and the problem will simply go away. It is that simple IMHO.<br /><br />I also think we should offer amnesty for the same reason. These are real live human beings, we have basically begged them to come here and we have to live with the mess that we have made. That is the only morally acceptable solution. We fight people that split up families, we can't simply decide that these people and their children are somehow undeserving of the same rights that we continually condemn others for not protecting i.e. North Korea, Cuba etc.<br /><br />Yes, they broke the law to get here, but again, we paid them to do so . . .

That's like saying that Rape is the girls fault because she is attractive.<br /><br />There is nothing morally acceptable about these Leeches that forge SS cards and ID's in order to get free healthcare, education and social services at our expense. They need to get back in the immigration line and become legal.

BS to both of you. I live in L.A. for God's sake. You don't think I see and live daily with the issues that illegal immigration cause? We can stop this any day we want. We don't, because we don't want to. We invited them, pay them, lure them. We are all guilty and Bush is first in line. You guys know I am Bush supporter, but I don't believe for one minute that the economy will collapse. We need to enforce our hiring laws too. Are they entirely innocent? No. Are they all good people? No. But we have to be honest; we are allowing this problem, just read what our leaders say.<br /><br />There are bad people that are citizens and bad people that aren't. That is yet another issue. I am in favor of the death penalty and I am in favor of stiff sentences for all evil doers. Is this topic evil doers or illegal immigrants? I guess I am not quite sure . . .

What do you mean "WE", paleface(old Lone Ranger joke). I'm not ready accept that I invited them or pay them. The vast majority of Legal Citizens want the border sealed up and the illegals thrown out. Yes, make employers accountable too. The elected representatives seem to be the only ones holding out for the 12 million votes that they can reap by cramming citizenship down our throats. That alone will end any influence of the Republican Party for decades. That may not be a totally bad thing, though.

I'm with you up to this point QC. The solution would dynamically cure itself without doing anything to the illegal. Just enforce the fullest extent of the law upon the employer. Cut off aid and education to non-citizens and the incentive to stay here would cease.<br />Those jobs now open would pay better and offer that incentive to those unemployed.<br />More taxes paid by those that fill those jobs. Less public money paid out in aid. <br />A win/win for America.<br />Now all we need is those that represent US to do what is right for America.<br /><br />With that said, to repeat what you said;
