That is not an arrest able offense. That warrants a citation.

That is toking into assumption that every body that has a truck going down the road is transporting dope.
That reeks of stupidity in my own opinion.
Hey Bubbacat,

Thanks for the correction. :) I don't like it when an LEO is "Toking" into assumption. :D

Your points are all valid but there is also the consideration that this LEO was not following proper procedure in the first place. It is not unheard of for less than steller cops to make an arrest of an out of state person knowing that likelyhood of legal repurcussion is nill.

I think the request for his commander would be a very good way of putting on notice that you intend to call his bluff.

Are LEO required to call for a supervisor at the request of a citizen? Should you state it loudly enough that the video in the cruiser picks it up?

When I was younger I got pulled over several times, speeding mostly.

All the officer were professional and curteous.

However there was one time in a small town that the one of the local cops was such an embarrassment the other cop rolled his eyes behind the guys back. Barney was talking about how he was to the point of "Terminating with Extreme Prejudice". This cop was later released from the local PD at the urging of the city attorney. But not before he had pulled several people over at gunpoint. Maybe this guy is working for Mississippi now.

By all means say it loud enough so the recorder can hear it. I would even ask the officer if he was taping it and when he ask why I would say well I want everything to be documented so it will protect you and me both.

I know there are a few out there that are hot dogs. I work with a few of them. I know it is hard to be courteous but always try to be. If you are gonna stand up for your rights always know your rights.
I absolutely dislike a pushy LEO and will tell them so in a heart beat.
