It's a beautiful weekend, the boats ready to go and i am on duty for the power company:redface:
so i hope we have some terrible thunderstorms so at least i can make some money!

Hear ya. Absolutely beeeyoutiful outside right now but the lake is 300 km away and the boat is sleeping under her tonneau up there. Family committments keeping me in town...

We tried to console ourselves with a nice dinner out last night at a (closer) lakeside restaurant watching from the patio as the boats came and went. Some help...but not much.

(Brief note -- some unlucky marine cop backed his twin Yammys into the pier in front of about 50 of us eating on the deck while he was trying to turn around in a narrow channel. Crunch! Talk about embarrassing.)

Guess I'll go mow the lawn and have a nap. sigh.

I can do you one better...I'm off...but so sick I barely have the energy to walk to washroom. All summer through the crappy weather I felt fine...now that we finally get a long weekend WITH nice weather and I feel like I've been hit by a freight train!

Working all weekend and Monday here in Ohio. Best I can do is drop her in the water at a local State Park after work. Never been to this one because it's mostly no-wake with 2 small speed areas. But...it's still wet...

Yes...it was Portage Lakes. It was NOT enjoyable boating for me. I'm used to being able to open her up. This putt putting around through shallow, narrow channels filled with pontoons was stressful. I have the typical low speed wander so I could never relax.

Gotta get back to Salt Fork.

I usually have every weekend off.

However, I asked for Friday off too for the long weekend and was reminded that not only did I have to work Saturday for a special project, there were too many people already off Friday, and I also have to work today (Sunday) because the guys didn't finish the work yesterday.

It's all good though. I get paid by the hour and all I have to do is stand around and watch.

Well if you are jealous of a weekend off I certainly won't tell you I have the next 9 days off, that just wouldn't be right.

My fishing buddies dad worked for the local utility so I know what you mean, he always had to out in the foulest weather and when they call you go.

Well it worked after i wrote that i worked till midnight!
But at least we get to go out next weekend when its not so crowded

On behalf of all of us running our air conditioners in the heat and humidity, thanks to all the power company guys on standby. My neighbor is a lineman and as we get older, it dosn't get any easier.
