I took y'alls advice and bought the OMC manual. and yes... best money I've spent on the boat yet.
I'm gonna attempt an impeller change on my 87 V4 looper. Any last minute advice for a rookie? I'll have the help of a neighbor and the proper kit. Just need to get the OMC Adhesive M (or suitable substitute) and follow the manual!

Read the manual first islandkids...make sure you know what the manual is talking about before you remove a bolt. Will save you frustration.

Good Luck!

Hey kids,
problem usually is disconnecting and reconnecting the shift rod. Also don't turn the rod while the unit is off the motor. The manual will give you the correct height.Nice tool they use,I use a yard stick.

If you have trouble reconnecting the shift shaft, take a short walk and come back to it.

DHP
