When I do the impeller, is there a great difference in quality between Sierra and Quicksilver components? Also, is a vacuum test on the outdrive as conclusive as a pressure test? I have no problems or leaks now, I just want to check and change things before grenading the OD. I do not know the history of the impeller and it seems like cheap insurance to me. Lastly, never having done an impeller before, is it difficult. I have done alot of work on cars and motorcycles but I'm new to wrenching on boats. I have the manuals from the adults only section and read them as required. Just trying to get a realistic perspective on the impeller replacement. On a scale of 1-10 type deal 1 being easy.
Thanks,

Ayuh,... I'm a Mechanic,.. I rate it a 1,... Your results may vary...
I also use Sierra parts, without issues,... Again, your results may vary...

The Idea is to do Both...
Sometimes a Bad seal will leak 1 way,+ not the other,...
That's Why you do Both...

What Bondo sez...because some seals seal oil in and some seal water out.
