I have a 35 hp Sea King model number GG8836A and I am trying to figure out what impeller will fit. The motor has one water "pipe" and I am told it is a 1960 model. I have checked and the records don't show a "Johnson" (Gale OMC) 35, so it must be a 1959, but I am also told there was a change in the water pump about 1958. I see an impeller #18-3006 for 1957 and an 18-3083 for 1959 ??????

Can you help ?

Re: Impeller ID

Hi Chris
Your motor uses water pump empeller OMCpart# 375808, Sierra part#18-3006. Sierra part#18-3038 is for models with the 2 pipes. Make sence? Oh, OMC part#375808 supercedes to OMC#378891. Also it will help if you note who's part#s you are using, i.e. Sierra,OMC,Napa (Sierra),ETC. This way we know which catolog your looking at.

Re: Impeller ID

One more thing, your motor is a 1960 model. These year/model-parts confusions happen all the time. Most parts catologs sort of cut a path somewhere near the center. If you have a model that is a little right or left of this path, it is hard for the parts people to figure out what you need. This is especialy true if they weren't alive in the 50"s.
